International Award for Buller

Buller District Council CEO, Sharon Mason, has been recognised by international business publication CEO Today, as a winner in the Australasian section of its annual Global CEO Awards.

Each year, the CEO Today Global Awards recognise strong and innovative leadership amongst the most inspiring and innovative CEOs and business leaders across the globe.

The UK-based publication is dedicated to recognising strong corporate leadership. Its annual awards are: ‘a celebration of the business leaders whose tireless work has enabled them to achieve success and reach new heights of innovation and growth in their sectors’.

Buller District Mayor, Jamie Cleine, says the award is positive news the entire district can be proud of, “The award is great recognition for Sharon and her team at the Buller District Council,” says Mr Cleine. “Sharon has guided the Council through some extremely challenging times, firstly with our COVID-19 response in 2020, followed by the July 2021 and February 2022 flooding events, all under continuous COVID-19 restrictions.

“Sharon has been instrumental in the development of a successful economic strategy for Buller. She has also been a champion for health services on the coast.”

“I would like to congratulate Sharon on the award on behalf of the council, it is great to get some international recognition for the district, and the work of Sharon and her team.”
