Buller District Council welcomes new Group Manager Regulatory Services, Nathan Riley
Buller District Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Nathan Riley as the new Group Manager Regulatory Services, effective 11 March 2024.
With a town planning and senior management background, Mr Riley will bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to Buller District Council.
Born in Queensland, Australia, Nathan has had a notable career in the Australian private sector and New Zealand's public service.
Before joining us, he has held significant roles at Clutha District Council as Manager of Planning and Regulatory Services and the Department of Conservation, leading regulatory teams across the South Island.
His expertise in regulatory services and town planning is expected to be instrumental in steering Buller District Council’s regulatory functions towards new heights of success.
Commenting on his new role, Nathan expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Buller District community: "I've always considered the West Coast as quite an extraordinary part of the world. So, when the opportunity came up at Buller, it was an easy decision. I'm excited to lead a great team and contribute to the community, especially with exciting projects like the Master Plan underway. Being immersed in the coast life and surrounded by world-class natural landscapes is certainly a great privilege."
